FAQ

We at CareCredit are committed to educating our customers about fees and charges. An important part of this is letting you know some of the options available to help reduce or avoid fees altogether.

How can I avoid fees and charges?

  • Keep track of your available balance using the Online Service Centre or by phone on 1300 662 273.
  • If your circumstances change, so can your credit limit. If you would like to review your current limit, please call us on 1300 662 273
  • If your card payments are made by Direct Debit, make sure your nominated account with your bank or financial institution has sufficient funds, otherwise you will be charged a dishonour fee. If you are paying by BPAY on your due date, make sure you complete the transaction before your banks or financial institutions cut off time.
  • Always make sure your minimum monthly payment is made on time. This is a simple way of avoiding a late fee.
  • Over-limit fees can be avoided by ensuring that you spend within your credit limit. Keep track of your account balance by using the Online Service Centre or by phone on 1300 662 273.
  • Making a payment at Australia Post costs you $1.50. To avoid this, consider making your payments by Direct Debit or one of the other payment options.
  • Only request a reprint of your statement if necessary as a fee may be charged. If you've lost your statement, you can check your balance, payments and transactions through the Online Service Centre.

How can I avoid incurring interest?

Where possible, try to pay off your total amount payable by the due date each month.

If you have any interest free promotional terms on your account, just remember to pay them off in full by the expiry date of the promotional plan or make more than the minimum monthly payment depending on your particular plan. Interest is only charged on the unpaid balance that remains on your account from when the promotional period has ended or if you miss a minimum monthly payment.

Remember that interest is charged from the day of a cash advance so you cannot avoid paying interest on this transaction.

How do I know what my credit limit is?

Your credit limit can be found on the top right of your monthly CareCredit statement or you can log on to the Online Service Centre (https://service.gemoney.com.au/creditline) to check it any time. You can also call 1300 662 273 to ask about your credit limit.
